Four ways to approach skin regeneration.

These treatments share a skin-remodelling focus but are not the same. The most appropriate choice depends on whether the priority is acne scarring, texture, skin firmness, recovery time or a regenerative combination.

01

SkinPen Microneedling

Precision Microneedling · Acne Scarring · Skin Texture
PriceFrom £250

Precision microneedling using SkinPen to create controlled microchannels in the skin and support the natural remodelling response. It is a straightforward option when the main goal is improvement in the appearance of acne scarring, texture and overall skin quality.

Read the full SkinPen guide
Often chosen for Acne scarring, uneven texture, visible pores and general skin-remodelling goals.
Approach Sterile microneedling cartridge with treatment depth selected according to the area and concern.
Recovery Temporary redness, warmth, mild swelling, tightness or light flaking can occur over the following days.
02

RF Microneedling — 3D Dermaforce

Microneedling + Radiofrequency · Firmness · Scarring
PriceFrom £350

3D Dermaforce combines microneedling with radiofrequency energy delivered through the needles into the skin. It is a more intensive option than standard microneedling and is often selected when firmness, acne scarring, texture and collagen support are priorities.

Read the full RF Microneedling guide
Often chosen for Acne scarring, fine lines, visible pores, uneven texture and loose-looking skin.
Approach Microneedles enter the skin while radiofrequency energy is delivered at the selected depth.
Recovery Redness, warmth, swelling, sensitivity, dryness or pinpoint marks may be visible temporarily.
03

Vampire Facial with PRP

Microneedling · PRP · Cosmetic Skin Regeneration
PriceFrom £300

A cosmetic regenerative facial combining microneedling with platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. PRP is used alongside the microneedling treatment when the goal is skin quality, texture and regenerative support.

Read the full Vampire Facial guide
Often chosen for Texture, post-acne scarring, dull-looking skin and clients interested in a regenerative approach.
Approach A small blood sample is processed to prepare PRP, which is then used as part of the microneedling session.
Recovery Temporary redness, sensitivity, swelling or pinpoint marks may occur after treatment.
04

Purasomes Microneedling

Microneedling · Topical Regenerative Formulation · Skin Quality
PriceFrom £350

Microneedling combined with a Purasomes topical regenerative formulation. The microneedling creates controlled microchannels in the skin, while the Purasomes product is incorporated into the treatment plan to support hydration, recovery and overall skin quality.

Often chosen for Dull-looking skin, uneven texture, early lines and clients interested in a regenerative skin programme.
What to know Purasomes is used as an adjunct to the microneedling treatment rather than replacing the microneedling itself.
Evidence Exosome-based aesthetics is an emerging field, so expectations are discussed realistically during consultation.
How to choose

The difference is in how the skin is treated.

Standard microneedling, RF microneedling and regenerative combinations can all form part of a skin-remodelling plan, but the treatment intensity and mechanism are different.

01

SkinPen

Mechanical microneedling without added radiofrequency. A useful starting point when acne scarring, texture and general skin remodelling are the priorities.

02

RF Microneedling

Adds controlled radiofrequency heat at depth, making it a more intensive option when firmness, laxity and deeper remodelling are important.

03

Regenerative combinations

PRP or Purasomes can be incorporated when the treatment plan includes an additional regenerative component alongside microneedling.

Microneedling FAQs

Questions before booking.

What is the difference between SkinPen and RF Microneedling?+
SkinPen uses mechanical microneedling to create controlled microchannels. RF Microneedling combines needles with radiofrequency energy delivered into the skin, so it is generally a more intensive treatment and may be considered when firmness or deeper remodelling is also a priority.
Which treatment is better for acne scarring?+
Both SkinPen and RF Microneedling may be considered for the appearance of acne scarring. The type and depth of scarring, skin type, recovery tolerance and whether additional tightening is wanted all influence which option may be more suitable.
What is PRP with microneedling?+
PRP is platelet-rich plasma prepared from a small sample of your own blood. In a Vampire Facial it is combined with microneedling as part of a cosmetic regenerative skin treatment.
What are Purasomes?+
Purasomes are topical regenerative formulations used alongside treatments such as microneedling. Exosome-based aesthetic treatments are an emerging area, so we discuss the current evidence, realistic expectations and whether the treatment is appropriate for your skin.
How much downtime should I expect?+
Recovery depends on the treatment and settings used. SkinPen commonly causes temporary redness, warmth and sensitivity. RF Microneedling may also cause swelling, dryness or pinpoint marks. Your expected recovery will be discussed before treatment.
How many sessions will I need?+
Many skin-remodelling plans use a course rather than one session, but the number and spacing depend on the concern, treatment chosen and how your skin responds. Your practitioner can recommend a plan after assessment.
Where are microneedling treatments available?+
Our Skin Clinic has locations in Nine Elms and Fitzrovia, London. Treatment and practitioner availability can vary between locations, so choose your preferred clinic when booking or contact us if you need help.
