Massage vs. Osteopathy

At Our Skin Clinic, we’ve always believed in providing treatments that not only help you feel great in the moment but also support your long-term health and wellbeing. Massage therapy has been a valued part of our services for years — and for good reason. It’s a wonderful way to relax tight muscles, release tension, and improve circulation. But now, we’re taking things a step further by introducing Osteopathy to the clinic.

The Difference

While massage focuses primarily on the muscles and soft tissues, osteopathy takes a broader, more clinical view of the body. Our osteopaths are trained to a much deeper level in anatomy, joint biomechanics, neurological assessment, and long-term treatment planning. This allows them to work not only on muscles but also on joints, nerves, and movement patterns — identifying and addressing the root causes of pain or restriction, rather than just easing the symptoms. Osteopathic treatment may include joint mobilisation, soft tissue techniques, stretching, and tailored rehabilitation exercises. Every session begins with a detailed assessment, ensuring each treatment plan is specific to the individual’s needs — especially for complex or recurring issues.

Why We Value Both

We see massage and osteopathy as complementary, not competing. Massage offers immediate relaxation and relief for sore muscles, making it ideal for stress reduction and general wellbeing. Osteopathy, on the other hand, goes deeper into restoring function, improving movement, and supporting long-term recovery.

Our Goal

By offering both massage and osteopathy, we can meet you wherever you are in your wellness journey — whether you’re looking for a calming treatment after a stressful week, or seeking help for a stubborn ache that just won’t go away.

Massage relaxes the muscles. Osteopathy restores the whole body.
